Re: Phase out of Saturn
It is official. The pending transaction between General Motors and Penske Auto Group for the sale of the Saturn brand will not happen, as of 09/30/2009. In response to the failed sale, G.M. has decided to phase out Saturn as a G.M. Brand.
As a result, Saturn of Rockford must sell all remaining Saturn New-Car Inventory and phase out this product line. We will however, continue with and immediately begin improving and expanding, our Used Car Sales Division.
Saturn of Rockford’s Quick Service Plus Service Center will remain open, and operate as a vital element in our current and future plans. Quick Service Plus will always be one of the areas’ finest and most experienced new or used car service facilities.
Warranty service work will continue to be performed at Saturn of Rockford until we officially discontinue operations as a Saturn Dealer. At that time, Saturn warranty service work will be transitioned to another GM Certified service center.
Quick Service plus will continue to specialize in factory certified GM and Saturn service, while offering service on all other makes and models, using the Saturn customer service business model as a guide. 50% of our existing Service customers do not own a Saturn. Our high levels of professionalism and integrity are the reasons why, and will not change now, or in the future.
Saturn of Rockford is owned by the Zimbrick Automotive Group. They have been selling and servicing vehicles in the Madison, Wisconsin community for over 50 years. They have expressed their commitment to, and intend on, operating this dealership in the Rockford area for at least 50 more. They are working with us daily, creating a new business model. We have high hopes and are optimistic that this new model will be the catalyst for obtaining a new dealer franchise in the near future. We have no plans to close this location at this time.
